The Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN, has a mobile performance stage designed and engineered by the CST Team to meet some of the Festival’s unique requirements. Each June, hundreds of thousands of music lovers come to the 10-day Chattanooga Festival which features performers and bands of many types to create a unique spirit of Chattanooga.
The stage is mounted on a 55′ X 195′ barge that floats in the Tennessee River which is now covered with a 160′ x 50′ Omni*Hub arch clad with polycarbonate glazing. One of the unique features is the A-Frame towers that allow the 65 foot high arch which to be lowered 20 feet.
The lightweight of the arch with its slide mount anchors enable simple chain hoists to raise and lower the arch. This provides for mobility of the facilities. The structure needs to clear the bridges on the Tennessee River and the water levels are unpredictable.
The facility is now a mobile facility that may move up and down the river all the way to New Orleans. The Omni*Hub system has eye bolts attached to all the bottom hubs to make for easy attachment of speakers and lighting trusses – different for each performance.
