The bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia was a time for expedient delivery and the client required a very quick reaction to meet the required delivery dates or the 200th anniversary of this historical event could not have occurred.

The solution was to provide a sun and rain enclosure for the many celebrations at Independence Plaza. The spaceframe structure was supported on 10 columns over the underground parking below and was erected in record time. Lightweight aluminum framework accelerated the construction time as well.

The structure was painted with a PPG white acrylic finish and was clad with a vinyl on polyester membrane skin. The canopy covers an area of approximately 60,000 square feet.
