355’ diameter CST Covers Aluminum Dome
Limestone preblending and storage facility
The Aluminum Dome rises to a height of 78’, supported by an 18.3’ high steel x-braced sidewall. The dome’s custom design includes a mill-finished aluminum exterior, seven skylights, four truck doors and four human doors. The conveyor opening is
flashed to the conveyor gallery to prevent wind, rain and snow from entering the dome and to contain dust. The building was erected by a crew of 12 men in 13 weeks and has a storage capacity of 55,000 tons.
