Domes are ideal climatic envelope enclosures for extreme environments. This dome was the first of a number of CST projects in Siberia. CST design/built a 103′ diameter dome system to be part of the new sports complex for Gazprom – the Russian Oil & Gas Company in Siberia.

The aluminum dome is ideal for cold environments, i.e. it gets stronger while steel can crack in colder environments. The dome has a fiberglass and membrane “blanket of insulation” hung inside the dome for good insulation in the extreme environment. The area of insulated acrylic panels on the South exposure to let in natural light.
