These Omni*Hub type A spaceframes act as a canopy entrance to the Rappahannock Regional Jail located at the Stafford Courthouse, 10 miles North of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Rappahannock River flows through Fredericksburg and the area is named after the Rappahannock Indians who controlled a large area of Colonial Virginia.
There are 3 spaceframe canopies – One a 32′ x 56′ spaceframe with a walkway extension and the other two are 24′ x 32′ spaceframes covering a total of 2096 square feet. The module size is 8′ x 8′ with standard depth. All are clad with aluminum v-beam decking.
The larger spaceframe has 6-translucent acrylic pyramid skylights clustered in the central modules. The spaceframes are free standing with no attachment to the new building. This is our second jail project – the first was the Federal Correctional Agency in Arizona where we covered the recreational areas – job#1398.
