CST has designed and manufactured over 80 CETs over the last three decades to the satisfaction of many customers. Many of these customers have chosen Aquastore CST's over field welded solutions because not only do they not like to see a rusty tank after several years but they particularly don't want to see a rusty tank way up in the air with their town's logo on it.

Fast Construction

Since all of our CETs are manufactured using factory-coated tanks, construction is faster. While field welded tanks have to wait for the weather to be within certain restrictions in order to paint, our tank construction schedule is almost never delayed by weather. As a result, our CSTs can usually be constructed in two-thirds the time of a conventional field welded CET. This quick erection time and avoidance of most weather- related delays means our projects finish on time more often and our customers ROI begins sooner.

Ultra-Low Maintenance

When we say "Ultra Low" maintenance we mean almost maintenance free. When your CET is built with an Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tank and a concrete pedestal you are getting an elevated tank solution that is constructed from some of the most durable products in the market. Maintenance on a glass-fused-to steel tank is generally limited to inspections and replacing the fillet mastic every 15-20 years, and neither procedure requires the tank to be taken out of service for prolonged periods of time. These costs are $100,000's less than that for a welded tank.

Expandable

Why pay for the cost and time of building a new tank as your water needs expand. Aquastore's jack built, top down construction method makes it easy to expand your existing tank when the foundation and pedestal are designed upfront with expansion planned for in the future. Because the lower rings of the tank are constructed last, the addition of future heavy rings at the bottom of the tank to accommodate expansion is easy and quick.

Durable Colored Pedestals

While plain concrete pedestals are the standard for durability and cost, pedestals can be colored using durable methods to further enhance the aesthetics of the CET. Tanks can also be designed with different colored panels to mimic a town's colors and to create beautiful patterns.

Proven Designs

CST has been properly and safely designing and manufacturing CETs using a combination of long-recognized and widely accepted industry standards and guidelines from AWWA, ACI, ASCE, AISC and IBC, such as AWWA D103, ACI 371R, ACI 318, ASCE-7, AISC 360, as well as state building codes generally based on IBC 2003 through 2009.

It is also important to put the use of design standards in perspective as it relates to good, overall design practices. Design standards are just that – standards. It is sound, experienced engineering judgment in conjunction with standards, experience, R&D, testing and/or empirical results that make up the good design of any engineered product, including water storage tanks.

Accordingly, standards alone should not be a substitute for sound engineering practices. We at CST Storage use the experience we have gained from over 120 years company experience (not cumulative personal experience) of tank building along with the application of new tools such as solid modeling, finite element analysis and proprietary design programs to optimize the tank and pedestal designs.

Logos and Decorations

Aesthetics are important and having a built in billboard is a good thing to leverage. Whether displaying the proud heritage of a town's logo or using the space for commercial advertising, simple and intricate logos can be included with your tank order. For long term durability, many logos can be glassed into the tank so they can be proudly displayed for the entire life of the tank and will look as if they were newly applied for the life of the glass coating.
