The design and manufacture of ground storage tanks makes up the majority of the potable water tanks produced by CST. With CST Storage being the world's largest manufacturer of aluminum domes our customers not only get the quality and backing of the world's largest factory-coated tank manufacturer, they get the highest quality integrated solution. But our integrated solutions go beyond just dome covers to include knuckle roofs, sloped decks and trough deck covers.

Lowest Life Cycle Costs

CST's Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel tanks and silos offer the lowest total life cycle cost due to their good upfront value, ultra-low maintenance costs and total tank life expectancy. Long term cost savings are achieved because Aquastore tanks are not painted, but made from glass being fused to the steel. Therefore there are no period, costly repainting expenses to be incurred throughout the life of the tank.

Alternatively, CST's HydroTec epoxy coated tanks coated using out proprietary OptiBond coating process results in coating bonding and initial coating life expectancy superior to other epoxy coated tanks. Applying our epoxy coatings in a factory-controlled environment under strict process controls and without environmental influences results in a coating unobtainable with field-application.

Top-Down Construction

The top down construction of Aquastore and HydroTec-Ts tanks means that these type tanks are constructed in the safest way possible with no requirements for the use of scaffolding and high level work. The tanks upper ring and roof are constructed first and then the whole tank is jacked up to accommodate the construction of each successive ring. Once the final ring is assemble, the tank is lowered onto the starter ring and the tank is ready. Construction at ground level also enhances safety and construction productivity.

Expandable

Since the last panels assembled are the bottom ones, the addition of additional, stronger panels to the bottom of the tank in the future accommodates easy expansion up to the design of the foundation. This expandability means that upfront costs for a tank can be optimized while allowing for future capacity without the cost , delays and footprint of building additional tanks. Tanks built from the bottom up require additional panels to be easily added to the top whether while the pressures to the bottom tank panels will increase due to expansion.

Whether choosing Aquastore glass-fused-to-steel or HydroTec epoxy coating applied using CST's proprietary OptiBond process, our customers can count on getting the best coating possible from CST. Since all our coatings are applied in factory-controlled environments under strict process control criteria, the quality and timetable for coating application is not restricted by the weather having to meet specific requirements.

Construction in Remote and Sensitive Environments

CST's top down construction method using bottom up jacks and not cranes and scaffolding means that overall construction footprints can be limited to as small as 4 feet beyond the foundation of the tank. The smaller size of the panels and the ability to transport the panels to the site and onto the tank without the use of cranes means that CST tanks can be constructed on rocky knolls and ecologically fragile sites where welded and concrete tanks cannot.

Design of CST tanks is quick and efficient using state-of-the-art design tools and our large capacity manufacturing facilities can often accommodate "fast track" orders. Couple these fast manufacturing capabilities with the fast construction times and virtual lack of weather delays, CST can design, manufacture and construct a tank in less than nine weeks when necessary. While we do not encourage our customers to wait until the last minute to order a tank, CST can usually accommodate such instances when other, smaller companies do not have the processes and capacity to do so.
